New Marriott Business Amex cardholders can earn 5 Free Night Awards, valued at a total of up to 250,00 Marriott Bonvoy® points after spending $8,000 on eligible purchases within six (6) months of being approved for card membership. Each award can be redeemed for one night at or under 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy®. (Certain hotels have resort fees.) This offer expires on March 20, 2024. (Terms apply.)

Given that the Bonvoy program jumped on the dynamic pricing bandwagon, having up to 50,000 points gives you pretty good flexibility finding a decent place — especially if you’re spending only a night or two. This is a great offer, I think, for cruisers looking for a hotel before or after sailings. (Note that the Free Night Awards expire one year from the date they’re issued.)

(See more hotel credit card offers here.)

Starting the second year of card membership, you receive an annual Free Night Award valued at up to 35,000 points. The Bonvoy Business Amex credit card‘s annual fee is $125 (see rates and fees.) So, that may or may not be worth it for you.

Are You Eligible for This Welcome Offer?

Now that I got you all excited, I may have to play Lucy with the football to your Charlie Brown.

Per the offer’s terms:

“You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card or the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express or previous versions of these Cards. You also may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer based on various factors, such as your history with credit card balance transfers, your history as an American Express Card Member, the number of credit cards that you have opened and closed and other factors. If you are not eligible for a welcome offer, we will notify you prior to processing your application so you have the option to withdraw your application.

Welcome offer not available to applicants who (i) have or have had the Marriott Bonvoy® Premier Plus Business Credit Card from Chase, the Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Business Credit Card from Chase, the Marriott Bonvoy Business® Credit Card from Chase, or the Marriott Rewards® Business Credit Card from Chase in the last 30 days, (ii) have acquired the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Credit Card from Chase, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card from Chase, the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card from Chase, in the last 90 days, or (iii) received a new Card Member bonus offer in the last 24 months on the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Credit Card from Chase, Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card from Chase, or the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card from Chase.”

Keep in mind the verbiage, “If you are not eligible for a welcome offer, we will notify you prior to processing your application so you have the option to withdraw your application.” So, at least you won’t go through the entire approval process — only to find out you’re ineligible.

Time to Set Sail!

There’s a pretty sweet (or suite?) limited-time offer running right now through March 20: Marriott Business Amex cardholders can earn 5 Free Night Awards, each valued at up to 50k points. That’s potentially worth 250,00 Marriott Bonvoy® points. Read more here on Amex’s website.
