The card carries a $695 annual fee (See Rates and Fees.) Check out this post explaining how I earn that back each year.

There are a couple of big benefits we love about the Amex Business Platinum Card. (Read our in-depth review of the card.)

35% Pay With Points Rebate

The first is the card’s 35% Pay With Points rebate. Amex Business Platinum members earn back 35% of any points they apply toward the cost of eligible flights they purchase on AmexTravel.com. (Amex converts each point to a penny each; a maximum of 1,000,000 points can be earned back each calendar year.)

You select an airline from a list of selected carriers. (That’s your preferred carrier for the rest of the calendar year.) Any class fare you book on that airline through AmexTravel.com qualifies for the 35% Pay With Points rebate.

Also, Business Class or First Class trips booked on any airline offered through AmexTravel.com are also eligible.

Make sure to include your airline’s loyalty program member number! These are considered cash fares. This means you still earn that carrier’s redeemable and elite status miles or dollars. You’ll also enjoy any applicable elite status benefits.

Airport Lounge Access

The Amex Business Platinum card is packed with airport lounge benefits. Card members can access:

  • American Express Centurion Lounges when traveling with a confirmed seat on a same-day flight
  • Delta Sky Clubs when traveling on a same-day Delta-operated or -marketed flight.
  • Escape Lounge by Centurion Suites (with up to two guests) when traveling on a same-day flight
  • Priority Pass Select membership (enrollment required)

Other Amex Business Platinum Card Features

The card is loaded with a bunch of other statement credit opportunities such as:

  • $200 Airline Fee Credit: Select one qualifying airline and then receive up to $200 in statement credits per calendar year when incidental fees are charged by the airline to your card. (Enrollment is required.) Read this post on Eye of the Flyer for more information.
  • $189 CLEAR® Plus Credit: Receive up to $189 in statement credits each calendar year for CLEAR Plus membership costs charged to your card. (Enrollment required. Taxes and fees not eligible. Terms apply)
  • $100 Global Entry Credit: Receive either a $100 statement credit every four (4) years for a Global Entry application fee or a statement credit up to $85 every 4.5 years for a TSA PreCheck® (through a TSA official enrollment provider) application fee. (Terms apply.) Global Entry comes with TSA PreCheck and is the better value, in our opinion. So many travel credit cards offer this benefit — as Chris points out on Eye of the Flyer, you can “gift” it to someone else.
  • Fine Hotels + Resorts: Enjoy early check-in and room upgrades (when available), daily breakfast for two (valued at up $60 total each day), a resort or spa credit (varies by property), and guaranteed late check-out. (Terms apply.)
  • Complimentary Gold Elite Status with Marriott Bonvoy
  • Complimentary Gold Elite Status with Hilton Honors
  • Complimentary Hertz President Circle status
  • Complimentary Avis Preferred Plus membership and discounts
