For those Frequent Floaters who have always wanted to experience a Transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2, or a cruise on the very British Cunard line, American Express rolled out a targeted deal for Cunard: get +5 American Express® Membership Rewards® per eligible dollar spent, up to 50,000 points. Enrollment is required and terms apply.
We value American Express® Membership Rewards® points at about 1.5 cents each (and that’s relatively conservative). So, the bonus points promotion is potentially worth more than $750.
The offer is good through December 29, 2023.
Cunard Amex Offer Conditions
The offer looks like it requires booking your reservation DIRECTLY with Cunard, through one of the following methods:
- Booking on the US website – Cunard.com
- Calling Cunard Customer Service at 800-728-6273
- Calling a Cunard Cruise Vacation Planner at 800-468-7752
With a current fleet of just 3 ships, Cunard will soon be growing to 4 with the addition of the new Queen Anne currently under construction. Queen Anne looks like a huge leap forward in terms of dining options on board with a contemporized range of choices. This line is perhaps best known for it’s very traditional New York <-> London (Southamton) crossing aboard the only operating ocean liner today. But Cunard also offers conventional upscale to luxury cruises on board two cruise ships with a third on the way.
A Transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2 is high on my cruise bucket-list and it kills me that the booking window doesn’t go out far enough for me to take advantage of this offer. So I sure hope many of you can!
Here are three examples of crossings in 2024 that take place approximately once per week in alternating directions. Tip: book departing from England to the United States and you’ll gain time on board and probably a bit more sleep on your way.
If a cruise is more appealing than a Transatlantic crossing, how about this 5-day Hamburg to Southampton sailing on the new ship the Queen Anne in 2026?
Fares (before taxes and fees) start with Britannia level inside cabins and go up from there to the top Queens Grill suites which can easily run more than $1,000pp per day:
The Fine Print
If you’re comparing, this Cunard offer looks like it might yield a better return than this Sweet Silversea Cruises American Express Offer: Earn 25,000 Bonus Points! that also expires on December 29, 2023. But either offer could be great if it works for you. Of course, you may also want to compare offers with your normal way of booking to make sure you’re getting the best deal.
It pays to keep an eye out for these AmEx offers from your favorite cruise lines or maybe an opportunity to try a cruise line or ship.
