For those Frequent Floaters who have always wanted to experience a Transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2, or perhaps a cruise on the brand new Queen Anne, American Express rolled out a targeted deal for Cunard: get +5 American Express® Membership Rewards® per eligible dollar spent, up to 50,000.

(Terms apply to American Express benefits and offers. Enrollment may be required for select American Express benefits and offers. Visit americanexpress.com to learn more.)

We value American Express® Membership Rewards® points at about 1.5 cents each (and that’s relatively conservative). So, the bonus points promotion is potentially worth more than $750.

The offer is good through August 2, 2024.

I received the offer on my American Express® Gold Card, but I imagine this is also offered on other American Express cards.  For those with multiple cards in your household targeted by this offer, you may want to split payments on these pricey cruises to maximize your points. The offer is good through August 2, 2024, meaning your reservation must be processed and card charged by this date.  Points will be awarded based on the charge by the date, not the total cost of the future cruise.

Cunard Amex Offer Conditions

The offer looks like it requires booking your reservation DIRECTLY with Cunard, through one of the following methods:

  • Booking on the US website – Cunard.com
  • Calling Cunard Customer Service at 800-728-6273
  • Calling a Cunard Cruise Vacation Planner at 800-468-7752

The current fleet just expanded to 4 ships with Cunard welcoming the new Queen Anne with a maiden voyage beginning on May 3, 2024.  Queen Anne looks like a huge leap forward in terms of dining options on board with a contemporized range of choices.  This line is perhaps best known for it’s very traditional New York <-> London (Southampton) crossing aboard the only operating ocean liner today.  But Cunard also offers conventional upscale to luxury cruises on board two cruise ships with a third on the way.

A Transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2 has been high on my cruise bucket-list for a long time, but now I’m thinking I may want to try the new Queen Anne first!

Here’s what Cunard’s has planned for Queen Anne in her inaugural season:

Throughout her maiden season, Queen Anne will sail on itineraries to the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, the Canary Islands, and the Norwegian Fjords, visiting over 60 unique destinations in 16 countries – taking in several of Europe’s most enchanting ancient cities.

The 249th ship to sail under the Cunard flag, Queen Anne arrived in her homeport of Southampton on April 30 ahead of her maiden voyage on May 3 – a seven-night sailing to Lisbon via La Coruna.

The Fine Printa close-up of a card

Note: We last saw a similar offer in October-December 2023 with the same points earning opportunity; however, the fine print always seems to change a bit so please check this carefully.

It pays to keep an eye out for these AmEx offers from your favorite cruise lines or maybe an opportunity to try a cruise line or ship.  Hopefully some of our readers can take advantage of tis new Cunard credit card offer – earn 50,000 points! – Michael
