This week was a great week for me as I just booked another 22 days at sea and will be paying for most of the voyage with points and at last navigate the Panama Canal (a long time bucket list thing for me). More on how I booked it all later but first the week that was:

A cruise vacation sure looks amazing (and they are) but it is so simple to blow up your budget and come home with more than just treasured memories. These are all the things to keep in mind when you book a cruise.

There is leaked body cam video of a lady who stole a bunch of credit cards and booked a cruise and used other stolen cards to book shore excursions – the excuses she uses are hilarious! Take a look.

I have very little love for MSC after my disastrous first ever cruise with them but I will freely admit that their private island is simply one of the best on earth. Oh and a reader helped me learn that the bartender who told me the drink package does not work ashore was wrong. See for yourself!

I am a huge fan of massages. I have had the same therapist for as long as I can remember but when it comes to treatments onboard I am not a fan. Plus did you know that the folks in the spa are not crew? Yup they are sub contractors and will push you hard to buy stuff if you visit them.

Lastly, as I mentioned at the top of this post, Chase UR points are one of my hands down favorite ways of paying for a cruise – and not just the cruise but even the daily gratuities can be paid with these points. Learn how you too can do as I do.

If you are reading this from part of the US getting creamed by snow – I feel for you but have some advice – start looking where you want to cruise next and you will instantly feel better! – René
