My wife and I have just returned from another visit to the Hilton Rose Hall All-inclusive Resort in Jamaica that we reviewed here last year. We stayed free on 400,000 Hilton points (with 5th free) and then used 4 free night certs (yes, they work at all-inclusive resorts) and saved about $4,500 for the 9 nights. I never got around to reviewing the dining and my has it changed so I am happy to not just cover that soon on EyeoftheFlyer but also the contrast. But for now a look back at last week:
I continued my review of my first ever MSC cruise and this week the review of my balcony cabin on the 13th deck starboard side. While it looked good to start – it ended with my wife coughing up blood! See why.
Our man MJ, who is a mega Royal Caribbean fan, covers what may be one of the biggest changes in main dining in decades. MJ thinks it is a brilliant idea and I completely agree.
Michael this week covers what dining was like on his Celebrity Flora Galapagos cruise. Please don’t click on it and read it if you are hungry because oh my does this look good!
Speaking of the Celebrity Flora check out how they go above and beyond when you have some kind of special event like celebrating your anniversary and so on. Impressive.
I opened this recap with how I used Hilton points to get stunning value. This week Chris covers new offers from Amex Hilton cards that include free night certs for just getting the card and meeting the minimum spend (plus a ton of points as well). If both you and your +1 each get a card and then pool the points (free to do with Hilton up to a max amount per year) you too can book something amazing like me.
I have to say I did really enjoy waking up every day to the sunrise over the Caribbean sea but at the same time my mind goes to the question of is a land based all-inclusive better, or worse, than a cruise. For me a cruise still wins and I will be posting about that soon. Have a great weekend everyone! – Rene
