I know I am sounding a bit like a broken record (who remembers those in 2024) but gosh this February is the winter that wasn’t with mild, even warm, temps at home. But that still does not stop me from considering my next cruise that will be… well I will save that for later. For now a look back at last week.

Just how gross was the food on my MSC Divina cruise in January? I have photos that will turn your stomach (like the one above). I really should have done my research before I ever booked an MSC cruise in anything but Yacht Club.

I freely admit I am creeped out by bugs. Yes, I know the planet needs them to survive but I sure don’t want to ever find beg bugs in any bed, let alone one on a cruise ship, that I am going to sleep in. Oh and yes there are times they do show up on ships and ThatGuy tells us why.

Did you know that cruise ships can, and do, overbook cruises. Is there risk that you could end up at the port and they then deny you boarding and the ship leaves without you? Would you believe YES! There is one thing that you can do when booking that will increase the chance of this happening to you.

Old cruise ships have their charm but newer classes of ships have some dining experiences that you can only have on a newer class ship. This dinner on NCL JOY was one of the best I have ever had at sea (and not just because the food was great).

Lastly, and these are cards I hold, there are new perks for some of my favorite travel cards. My wife and I hold dozens of travel cards and each one is worth it. Take a look.

The cruise industry really is unique from the experience to those who take care of us onboard. It will be fascinating to see how things change, for the better or worse, over the coming years. I am working on a post regarding this soon and look forward to readers input! – Rene
