What We Like About It

This is an excellent complement to any Membership Rewards® portfolio. We like that it earns 2X base points (on up to $50k spent during a calendar year) — that’s better than most purchases made on The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. (Then again, the latter is a benefits-packed product.) Plus, the $0 annual fee and a generous introductory APR make it all the more attractive. (See Rates and Fees.)

What Could Improve

Be aware of the foreign transaction fee: 2.7% of each transaction after conversion to US dollars. (See Rates and Fees.)

Regarding small business credit cards in general, you’re probably better off with something from the Chase Ultimate Rewards suite of Ink cards. The no-annual-fee Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is a particular favorite of ours: it offers 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable, and phone services each account anniversary year (then 1%). Plus, you earn 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and restaurants each account anniversary year (then 1%). All other eligible purchases earn 1%. (Cashback is earned as Ultimate Rewards points, which can be converted to direct deposit, a mailed check, statement credit, or used for other awards such as travel, gift cards, donations, etc.)
