Card Features and Benefits

There are two huge reasons we hold the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card:

The first is the annual Anniversary Night starting the second year of card membership. It’s redeemable for a night valued at up to 40,000 points. If you find a night valued at more than 40,000, you can use your IHG points to make up the difference. (Remember that IHG is a Chase Ultimate Rewards® points transfer partner.)

Next is the Fourth Night Free benefit. When you book an award stay (with points) for three consecutive nights, you can stay a fourth night for 0 points. This can really help you save money during a vacation. It’s one of the reasons we think the card is especially great for couples and families.

Cardmembers are given IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status. This comes with perks such as:

  • Room upgrades (when available)
  • Guaranteed room availability
  • Complimentary internet
  • Priority check-in
  • Late check-out
  • Welcome amenity (usually 500 points or a free alcoholic beverage)
  • $30 In-room spa credit

IHG Platinum status obtained through a travel credit card scored us this great complimentary upgrade!

Finally, you can earn a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck® or NEXUS statement credit of up to $100 every 4 years as reimbursement for the application fee charged to your card. Remember that you can always “gift” that benefit to someone else if you already have (or don’t want) it.
