One of the few things that were provided for sale when we entered our Carnival Glory aft wraparound cabin (review here) was two large bottles of water. If you are new to cruising this is not something strange as the cruise lines have learned that folks do not know that the water out of the taps on cruise ships is 100% safe to drink and so sell them overpriced water bottles.
Is this a shock to you? I mean think about it – do you think the water they make OJ or other fruit juices (from a concentrate) uses anything but ship’s water? What about coffee or tea – yup once again ship’s water and it is fine to drink.
Now you may not love the flavor of the water and you may call me weird but on NCL they offer bottled water called “Flow” and it is in a paper bottle and I do not like it at all. When at dinner I always ask for “tap water” that they serve to everyone else even if I get the bottled water free because I think the ship’s water tasted better than the Flow.
On my Carnival cruise I found the water just OK but I knew it was safe to drink so I put aside and out of the way the two provided for purchase bottles of water as I was not going to drink them or pay for them. Little did I know some shameful guests have a “hack” to drink the water and not get charged. Take a look at this Tiktok video:

…and this folks is why we can not have nice things! Sigh… Have we gone downhill so far as a society that we do not care at all for our fellow man who is going to be next on our cruise ship?
Cruisehive, via the Carnival Cruise Line’s Brand Ambassador John Heald on Facebook, indicates that Ms. Krissy Kross has been banned from Carnival for life and I think that is the least they should do to her.
There are so many things passengers do that are just so shameful like smoking either in their room or on their balcony or stupid human tricks like fishing from their balcony or dragging a mattress onto the balcony – and now we can add this one to the list!
Maybe it is just my upbringing but I always try to leave the room like I found it on a ship and even try to plan so that the room steward(s) have as simple a time as possible making up the room for the next guest since we all know embarkation day is a nightmare long day for them.
You tell me – were you as shocked by this woman’s behavior or do you expect this is simply the way people act in 2024? – René

I won’t say I’m shocked, but I also don’t sense things are so bad that I expect this sort of behavior.
Fortunately the water itself is good either way. I wouldn’t put it past this person to do the same thing in a hotel in Mexico….
I mean, people like you were traveling for pleasure during a plandemic, so, I think that says it all about what we can expect from society these days!
@Samantha R – I did not travel during the pandemic and stayed home until I had my COVID vaccination (and booster) in fact.
I’m not shocked because if you look at her page and read the comments she said it was a joke. Her profile also states “Entertainment Only
Family, Comedy Skits, Music & Gym Videos”. That should hopefully be a clue to not take this seriously before giving her the views. It’s not a funny joke but content creators gotta content.
Bad enough that it’s gross with putting the glue inside the lid, it’s also stealing. I’m glad they banned her and hope they pursue charges for theft.

Water bottle tampering is something that you always have to watch for when travelling. This is why we always bring empty water bottles to fill and carry in our tote bags when going ashore. We also carry water pouches (Vapur, etc.) which can easily fit in a travel vest.
