Most of us fly to our cruise ports — and stay a night or two on either side of our trip. Saving money using points and miles credit cards is always a plus.
But there are a couple of other ways, too. Discounted gift cards can come in handy.
Digital gift card merchant MyGiftCardPlus (MGCP) currently offers 10% cash back on both Delta Air Lines and Airbnb gift cards.
MGCP purchases earn Swagbucks — which can be converted to a number of different rewards. I usually choose PayPal deposits and simply transfer the money to my bank account.
So, if you purchase a $100 Delta gift card from MGCP, you’ll pay the full $100 upfront. That earns 1,000 Swagbucks, which is equal to $10. You then select your reward (PayPal, in my example) at the Swagbucks site and go from there
What I like about this method is you can earn the “full” amount of credit card miles/points — and still get the cash back through Swagbucks. So, our $100 Delta gift card earns whatever points our card awards. For example, the card_name earns two (2) points per dollar spent on every purchase. We’d earn 200 Capital One miles. The card_name earns 1.5 Chase Ultimate Rewards® on non-bonused purchases. We’d score 150 points.
Once you do that, visit this page for the Airbnb gift cards and/or this page for the Delta gift cards.
Happy shopping, traveling, and saving!
