  1. The Alaska NPR story is just a biased hit piece. Cruise lines do a lot to cut down on pollution and their impact. Maybe more than any other travel industry. Many use clean diesel and newer ships use natural gas. There are about 200 to 250 cruise ship port calls in Seattle each season (not “hundreds” of cruise ships). These people wouldn’t be happy with cruise ships ran on solar and cleaned ocean water as they sailed through it.
