Many of us need automobile transportation at some point during our travels before or after a cruise. We may need rides to or from airports, hotels, ships — or a combination of all of those!

Capital One SavorOne Rewards Credit Card

I’m a Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card member. This Uber promotion is saving my family and me a bunch of money on Uber rides and Uber Eats orders.

Which Cards are Eligible for a Free Uber One Membership?

These cards are eligible for a complimentary Uber One membership through November 14, 2024:

Three cards are eligible for up to six months of Uber One membership credits through November 14, 2024. They are:

Simply make your eligible Capital One card as the default form of payment for membership. You’ll be billed the membership fee each month — and then receive an equal statement credit for that amount. (Currently valued at $9.99.)

Uber One membership includes:

  • Unlimited $0 delivery fee on eligible food, groceries, and other Uber Eats orders
    • Customers must place a $15 minimum order at participating restaurants to receive the $0 delivery fee and a $30 minimum on other participating stores for $0 delivery fee.
  • Up to 10% off eligible orders with Uber Eats
  • Up to 5% off eligible rides with Uber
  • Discount will not apply to shared rides or rides booked 30 minutes or more in advance.
  • Member-only perks and promotions

This promotion is fantastic for people who regularly use Uber and Uber Eats.

Team Up With Amex’s Uber Cash Benefits

Two premium American Express Membership Rewards cards offer members monthly if-used Uber Cash deposits valid for Uber and Uber Eats purchases in the United States:

  • Up to $15 for The Platinum Card® from American Express members (Up to $35 in December)
  • Up to $10 for American Express® Gold Card members
  • Enrollment is required for each card and terms apply. All information about The Platinum Card® from American Express and American Express® Gold Card was collected independently by FrequentFloaters.com. The Platinum Card® from American Express and American Express® Gold Card are currently unavailable through FrequentFloaters.com.

I hold both the The Platinum Card® from American Express and American Express® Gold Card. So once my $25 in Uber Cash is exhausted, I charge the rest of the month’s Uber and Uber Eats cash balances to my Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card.

Yeah, But What Happens When the Deal Expires?

That’s a good question. Keep in mind that Chase’s Ultimate Rewards® cards announced a few years ago some great Lyft perks. Those were set to expire in March 2022 — but then extended through March 2025.

So, if this Uber and Capital One promotion is successful, my hope is that it’ll be extended a while longer — or maybe become permanent.

Time to Set Sail!

Four Capital One cards — including three with no annual fees — offer 10% cashback on Uber and Uber Eats purchases through November 14, 2024. Plus, cardholders can receive a complimentary Uber One membership during the promotion, too.

I think it’s worth getting even a no-annual fee, eligible Capital One card — and taking advantage of the Uber benefits.
