I can not believe Monday will be May 1st – this year is moving along twice as fast as the one before (at least it is for me). I am not complaining, mind you, because my next cruise adventure will be here that much faster now! But first a review of this busy week.

Have you ever considered paying the upcharge to race Go-Karts on a cruise ship? Are they worth it? More importantly are they safe? Let’s take them for a spin!

ThatGuy, who knows his stuff, shares with us the things that are all but guaranteed to get you tossed off you cruise. Some of them likely will get you banned from cruising for life! Can you guess what they are?

We all love cruising but we all hate paying too much right? Did you know you can often buy discounted cruise gift cards to make your vacation cost much less? Here are some ideas. HOT TIP: Use promo code “MAYSAVINGS” to stack an extra 3.5% off already discounted rates!

ThatGuy had two posts this week. He dives into the question of how many make life at sea their career vs. those who just sail for a short time.

Lastly Chris has a number of travel cards we should consider while the offers are the best they have been for quite some time! I am personally adding cards very soon.

Have a great weekend everyone. If you are on your way to a ship right now then I am jealous of you but also happy for you – so that works! – René

  1. Cruise line gift cards aren’t created equal. Some can only be used for certain parts of the booking but are restricted from certain charges or OBC, etc. So use caution with these and read the fine print on the cruise line website or ask your travel agent.

  2. Rene! I don’t cruise and probably not on my radar, but it sure is fascinating to read all the ins and outs from a real seasoned view point. So many more angles than flying. What a transformation from ‘Delta Points’ – a true entrepreneur! Yes it is a great time to get a new card too!
