What a crazy week this has been as we sail quickly toward fall. Alaska cruise season is nearing it’s end (well in a few months anyway) and I am looking forward to winter with a bunch of fun sailings to get away from the cold (yes it may be cold again this winter). But for now let’s look back at this past week:
Michael had a post that went mini-viral covering proposed changes to ships being able to dock in the heart of Amsterdam. While nothing has changed for now things may not stay that way.
Both my wife and I were approved for two new travel cards and we are thrilled. Once the minimum spend is done we will have, if we spend the points on cruises, $3,000 free to spend on our cruise and even gratuities!
Speaking of Michael, I am thrilled to have another very Frequent Floater onboard the blog. If you are someone who likes high end cruises, or is thinking of trying them, he will be a valuable asset to assist you. Please take the time to get to know him and his wife here.
There are some sweet promotions ongoing this week. One of them is from Oceania and the other, if you are targeted (many are) for tons of bonus points from Amex on Seabourn sailings.
Lastly our man working onboard once again shares his insights to what kinds of exclusive discounts our hard working crew can get. There really are a lot of perks they can get! Check them out.
August, for me anyway, will be a month at home. I have just about every day booked with something and am looking forward to September 1st to be able to start traveling again. Oh and I even have yet another land trip, that is, a long weekend of golf up north in Michigan with my buds – I can’t wait! – René
